How it works
⏱️ Scores update every 30 minutes. Machines report to the TournaMaxx server as you play, and this site picks up new scores every half hour. If your score isn't here yet, check back shortly.
A free, hobbyist project
TournaMAXX is a non-commercial preservation project run by hobbyists who want to keep Megatouch tournaments and high scores alive. It is not affiliated with AMI Entertainment or Merit Entertainment. Taking part in TournaMaxx tournaments and global high-score leaderboards is free, with no charge to participate.
TournaMAXX is proudly sponsored by Arcade Doctor Parts, the official sponsor of the site.
Connecting your machine
TournaMaxx is available for home machines as well as location machines.
- Megatouch Ion Lost Classics Edition or Force Revival Edition: these connect to TournaMaxx automatically once Ethernet or Wi-Fi is set up. Both are available from Arcade Doctor Parts.
- Other machines: open Operator Setup, go to the Network settings, and use them to connect to TournaMaxx.
Joining in
- Play on a Megatouch machine connected to the TournaMaxx network, either your own (see Connecting your machine) or one at a location.
- Open the tournament menu and create a player handle with a PIN. Keep your PIN private, since it's how the machine knows it's you.
- Log in and play any tournament game. Every play is sent to the network, and your handle appears on this site after the next update.
Questions, or looking for a connected machine near you? Ask in the Megatouch Players Facebook group.
Tournament scoring
- Each tournament features one game. Your tournament score is the average of your best 5 games, the same figure the machines show. Play as often as you like: only your top 5 count, and if you've played fewer than 5 games each missing game counts as 0. The tournament page shows the rule for each tournament.
- Scores count toward a leaderboard group when they're played on a machine in that group. Most tournaments have a single network-wide group.
- Highest average wins. Players with the same average share the place.
- Tournaments that run longer than a month are split into monthly seasons. Everyone starts from zero on the 1st (Eastern Time), and the “All-time” view shows the full run.
MAXX Points
Scores from different games can't be compared (a Photo Hunt score is not a Hoop Jones score), so the overall monthly championship uses points for your finishing place in each tournament:
1st 262nd 193rd 164th 135th 116th 97th 78th 59th 310th 2Any entry 1
Your points also count toward your home state in the State Showdown.
Global Leaderboards
The Global Leaderboards are a separate high-score system. When you enter initials after a game, the score is uploaded. Each machine then downloads the top 10 for every game. Initials aren't accounts, so anyone typing the same letters shares a profile. On tied scores, the oldest score ranks higher: whoever got there first keeps the spot.
Privacy
This site only shows your handle, the city and state you entered, and your scores. PINs, names, email addresses, phone numbers and birthdays never leave the TournaMaxx server and are never sent to this website.
